No matter how many bitter comments you make whenever you see an artistic picture of a skinny girl, they will not make you feel better about your insecurities with your own weight.

Its just obnoxious when people point out in a picture "Shes skinny"...or people point out "I really like this picture but shes sooo skinny" like her thinness is the thing that is preventing you from liking the picture more. Its just as bad as people not liking pictures because the model is overweight.

Or pictures where the ribs stick out for artistic effect. Ribs NEVER glamorize a person so why the hell are you complaining about them? Just because they exist and you don't like being reminded that there are people skinnier than you?

Or you may say "I don't care I love my body! I'm glad I'm not that skinny. This model is too skinny". Then why is it even an issue? Its just like me saying "I like this picture but his eyes are not asian enough." I prefer asian eyes but just because something exists that doesn't belong in my list of preferences doesn't mean it has to be an issue.

Artistic non-commercial pictures which feature skinny girls are not giving promoting the message "thin is better". Commercial pictures (a lot of the time) promote looks and ideas of perfection but that is not the intention of artistic non-commercial pictures. Have you noticed that the vast majority of the people you see in commercials are white? They're promoting whiteness just like they are promoting thinness. Does that mean you should be bitter when you see pictures of white people? What I'm trying to say is...SAME CONCEPT.

Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes and its never confined to one body type...EVER. Yes....I may have a tiny waist but I will never have Beyonce type curves...its literally impossible unless I gain a lot of weight...but I can't gain weight even if I try..theres ups and downs to every body type.

Art has a right to be shocking
Well, arent we a happy little clusterfuck?
:iconnocturno:
Yes, people have done a 180º on that, now every photo of a thin girl is accused of "establishing an unrealistic expectation" (well, not for her, right?) and the girl is usually accused of having serious psychological disorders (can you be "accused" of being sick? weeeeeird). I hope things level out reasonably soon. I love to photograph naturally thin girls, and curvy girls, and tall girls, and... maybe I just like girls.

Don't mind them.

I totally agree. But you know what pisses me off even more than aaaalll of that?

people who say

"REAL WOMEN HAVE CURVES."

yeah, screw off. SO because my best mate has a flat chest she is a man? because i have a tiny ass I'm not a real female? because i don't have a 22 inch waist, dd tits, and an ass like J.Lo, I'm not real?

ALL. WOMEN. ARE. REAL. WOMEN.

sorry, ranting :P
:iconcentrist:
Real women are healthy and feminine. That's all to it. Nothing else. Nada.

And they are in short supply in the West, especially North America.

they shouldn't have to be feminine either though, thats exactly what I'm saying! I have a friend with broad, manly looking shoulders, small boobs, msucles everywhere and a reasonably masculine jaw, but i know for sure she's a woman!
:iconcentrist:
What I meant was emotionally feminine. You know, you can't have love without vulnerability and things like that. We should celebrate the differences between our genders; it's how evolution brought us to be. Thanks for the quick reply!
